“iPod Killer, The Zune” Part I
Microsofts is going to rain down evil on Apple with their new iPod killer, at least that’s what they think. At first it seemed Microsoft had named the “iPod Killer” MP3 player “Argo”, but word is out that the final product name is the “Zune” The images that are on the net show a finished product, which makes the player very clean but also very iPod like. There might also be a black version of the Zune, from the looks and judging the information available the Zune should be on the market within a couple of months.
Microsoft also has plans to integrate gaming functionalities in their new line of MP3 players, however it isn’t clear if any gaming functions will be implemented in this first launch of MP3 players.
It’s said that Zune to Zune wireless song transfer – a PlaysForSure feature currently highlighted in the MusicGremlin — is said to be a prominent aspect of the device’s development, and in addition to the white shade we show here, we can expect a complement of colors to be available at or near launch, like Apple did with the iPod Mini. Apparently the Zune will have a brushed metal back with an engraved logo, not unlike the you-know-what.
Since this is an interesting development we’ll keep you updated on big events and news around the Zune.
