FRAAI magazine // we’re here!

February 2nd, 2008

The time is upon us at last. As said before, some random stars have definitely aligned and FRAAI magazine is up and running!

Over the last couple of months we have been working very hard to get to where we are now. We put most of our blood, sweat and tears into this new medium of creative inspiration.

But remember, not only is our first issue titled ‘the prototype,’ it really is a prototype. We are still working hard in getting all the pixel-perfectness and other minor details sorted. So bear with us. By the time we reach the second issue, you can expect almost all of the intended professionalism (just imagine what we have got planned beyond that point…).

Eventually we will phase out the Studio469 blog and focus all of our attention to FRAAI magazine. Here you can find the same contents you have become familiar with over the years and a lot more new professional material. Please adjust your bookmarks!

On an added note, we would advise you to subscribe to our FRAAI newsletter, it will keep you up to date on any fresh pages and provide you with 100% free creative inspiration.

We hope you enjoy our work up till now, and stay with us for the time to come. We promise to deliver one of the best sources of creative inspiration on the internet!

Kind regards,

the FRAAI Team

FRAAI // almost here…

December 30th, 2007

We know we have been updating far too little lately. No new fresh artists, Weekly Must See’s or any content at all. But we are going to make up for it. Big time! The moment we have been waiting for is almost here…

In the last couple of months we have been working hard on a new way to broadcast our creative and inspirational content. And from now on, it will have a name: FRAAI.

fraai.jpg

FRAAI is a new online magazine available for all to see, hear, smell and taste (depending on your computer’s features). FRAAI will be continuously updated with fresh material and lifted to an even higher professional level. All the content you became familiar with will not only join us, but also receive an upgrade. Some of the things you may expect are brilliant Cover Articles, Creative Columns, Fraai’s Favourites, and much, much more.

When the time is upon us and some random stars align, you will be the first to know! So sit back, relax, enjoy whatever ride you are currently taking and keep frantically hitting that refresh button until FRAAI is here! (Which will be within the coming weeks…)

We will see you soon!

Creative Columns #16: I’m Moving Out…

December 5th, 2007

Dear folks,

because of recent creative developments in and around the Studio469 environment I will be moving to another location. Because of the complexity of this relocation I will postpone this month’s Creative Column.

However, there is nothing to be fearful of, since I will be returning in the early days of 2008 with fresh Creative Columns.

As an added bonus there will be some more developments in the area of creative content here at Studio469. This is also the main reason why we have been updating a little less than usual. Expect more news in the coming weeks!

Kind regards,

Jan van der Asdonk

Creative Columns #15: Invisibility

November 9th, 2007

about a year ago i talked about advancements in the field of teleportation. new technological developments always get my neurons firing. so in search for some scientific creative energy i once again came upon an invigorating incident: invisibility.

another one of the holy grails of science, invisibility is usually targeted at creating cloaks for defense purposes [though i wonder being invisible does not provoke more offensive behavior]. some time ago headway was made, resulting in a near perfect 2D cloak [yes, 2D, not 3D. we are not that far into the future just yet].

cc15.jpg

obviously we will not be discussing the technical details nor the evolution of invisible tanks for that matter. engineering material and wars are as boring as today’s paper. considering this is a blog about creativity and inspiration, we are going to get freaky with invisibility [okay, maybe i lied. “freaky” is not the right word for the job, but i will try to get as close as possible].
